Fall Trends 2010 for WOMEN

Here’s a list of things that will work for just about any woman and any age:

Small, structured handbags

These are the polar opposite of what we’ve seen for the last several years. Thank goodness. Our handbags have gotten so big and sloppy I fear I’ll be mistaken for the hobo my bag’s named for. Look for square and rectangle shapes.

Handbags

Big Jewelry

Forget the dainty and delicate chains and earrings. Big and chunky is what’s hot for fall, (a nice balance with the smartly styled handbags). Part of the inspiration is all things “vampire” inspired; crosses stakes and pendants.

Chunky Boots and “Shooties” or shoe-boots

No more skinny stilettos and pointed toes. Think biker boots with square toes and square heels. Or the shoe-boot with rounded toes and slouchy material at the ankles.

Denim Leggings & Boot-cut Jeans

I’m sure you were thinking “Great, what do I wear with biker boots?!” Leggings, denim leggings, any kind of leggings as well as what else? Boot-cut jeans with those boots.

Fitted and Cropped Jackets

Jackets are very small and fitted this season. Whether cropped short or nice and tight with slim sleeves and lots of seams, whatever size you normally wear in your little blazers, go down one. That’s the look you want.

Jackets

Outerwear “gotta have” – Capes, Capelets and Wraps

Okay, not the huge and “meant to look like you’re assisting in a magic act” kind. But sleek and chic. Put a wide belt with a long one for versatility and a whole different look.

Capes

Color and Fabric: Jewel tones and Velvet

These two are big for this season because they’re meant to inspire wealth and success. Jewel tones being: deep hues of purple, emerald greens, sapphire blues, garnet reds and rich gold tones. These will be in many of the clothing offered this fall.

This fall the fabric is meant to inspire luxury and the fabric of choice is velvet. Typically velvet is created from natural fibers like cotton and can be very expensive. However, cheaper versions are just as impressive and last longer because they’re made from synthetics.
